Iran was one of the countries worst hit by COVID-19 pandemic. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made a controversial decision to ban the use of American and British vaccines in the country. This decision was rooted in political tensions between Iran and west, but its consequences were felt by ordinary Iranians who desperately needed protection against the virus. As the pandemic was almost nearing its end around the world, people in Iran were still dying due to the lack of vaccines. As a photographer I covered many tragedies but It was the first time in my career since 2005 that It I could feel the weight of stress and sorrow in my life. This project is a result of my struggles with stress in the pursuit of the only job I know how to do.
