Ahmad Halabisaz is a freelance photographer and visual artist who focuses on social issues, personal projects, and documenting the impact of conflict. He has worked in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria, Kenya, and France.
Halabisaz started photography at the age of fourteen and studied photojournalism at the Iranian Journalists Association University. He began his professional work after graduating. His photographs have appeared in Time, Le Monde, The New York Times, Newsweek, The Guardian, and Getty Images, AP, among other international media outlets over the past years.
In 2022, while covering the Women, Life, Freedom protests in Iran, he was jailed and banned from working as a photographer in his homeland. After his released, he got way more into photography than he ever was before. So he was forced to leave Iran to rebuild his career.
